JOHN O’CONNELL

A respected lawyer and litigator, John advocates zealously for his clients and brings his broad base of legal knowledge to bear in his cases.

John’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, including appeals and class actions.  He represents plaintiffs and defendants in professional malpractice actions, corporate disputes, defamation, and tax matters. John’s interest in the law is broad and deep; not only did he receive his LL.M. in Taxation after obtaining his J.D., he is a co-author of Wrongful Use of Civil Proceedings and Related Torts in Pennsylvania, published by The Legal Intelligencer, currently in its 2nd edition.

As lead counsel, John has obtained a defense judgment after trial in a long-running real property and ownership dispute in Chester County; he has also defended clients successfully in Dragonetti Act claims.  On the plaintiff’s side, John obtained a decision from a Pennsylvania court extending the law of wrongful use of civil proceedings into the administrative context.  He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and his LL.M. with distinction from the same institution.  While in law school, he was Articles/Research Editor for the Temple Law Review, and interned for the Hon. Franklin Van Antwerpen on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  Prior to joining Bochetto & Lentz, John served as law clerk to the Hon. Jose L. Linares of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
