Albert Belmont was named one of SJ Magazine’s "25 People to Watch" in 2005.
In 2006 and 2007, he was named one of the top attorneys in South Jersey in SJ
Magazine.
Mr. Belmont has more than ten years experience representing parties in
litigation at both trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts, as
well as arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution methods. Active in
his community, he has also provided pro-bono legal assistance to a variety of
non-profit charities and religious organizations.
Practice Areas:
Mr. Belmont’s civil litigation practice encompasses a variety of subjects,
including:
(i) complex commercial litigation in the areas of partnership/shareholder
disputes, breach of contracts, breach of warranties, commercial torts,
intellectual property, Civil RICO;
(ii) real estate advice and litigation (leases, quiet title, specific
performance, tax assessment appeals, landlord-tenant disputes,
eviction/collection proceedings, construction, mechanics liens, land use, and
liquor license transfers);
(iii) environmental land use advice and litigation (Freshwater Wetlands,
CAFRA, Pinelands, Flood Control Act, Superfund, Spill Act);
(iv) plaintiff's professional malpractice litigation (attorney, accounting,
medical, engineer, architect) and catastrophic personal injury litigation.
Mr. Belmont is admitted to practice before the State Bar in PA and NJ and
admitted to Federal Court in the E.D. Pa., D. N.J., and 3rd Circuit.
Recently, Mr. Belmont was one of the attorneys who won a precedent setting
appeal before the Third Circuit establishing the standing rights of option
holders for the purchase of land to bring suit in federal court. (Toll Bros. v.
Readington, et al., No. 06-1053 (3d. Cir. Feb, 4, 2009).
